Averys Doctor Appt.

Just letting everyone know that Aves had her follow-up appointment with Dr. Aru, the Gastroenterologist from Childrens Minneapolis yesterday. He couldn't believe how big she was, how healthy and happy she looked (she gave him a big toothy smile!). Avery is weighing in at a full 17.8 lbs and 27 inches long, 90th percentile for both, not like her first 5 weeks of life when she was only gaining a 1/2 ounce a day and was what they call it "thriving for life" (5th percentile). Every time I hear that phrase, I get chills, its not what we had planned for her when she was a newborn. That was one of the scarriest moments of JP and I's lives and hope to not go back there again. Dr. said she can start solids, but need to be really cautious of allergies, since her older sister has so many food allergies. I can even mix in breast milk slowly with her formula!!! Everyone knows how much breast milk I have left in my freezer from pumping while she was in the hospital and while I was trying to stop! I am really happy about that, but need to of course watch for symptoms of her previous situation. She will be on the formula until she is a year old and then slowly introduce cows milk to her. It was very reassuring to us and we are so thankful that she has such good Dr.s watching over her and of course, the ones that are looking down on her from above! Again, JP and I want to thank you for all the calls and prayers from when she was in the hospital until now. We really appreciate it. Thanks,
