Our October Tradition: Nelsons Farm

The girls getting ready to head in

Standing next to the pumpkin tower

Our girls (Aves was actually standing behind there, just kidding)

The trebuchet being loaded with a bowling ball to be flung about 100 yards, that was exciting.

Then they went right to panning for marbles, or actually, Dad panning for marbles, that is thier favorite thing to do at the Farm is to bring home cool marbles!

In the hay maze

Heading down the hill in the soapbox cart

Riding the train, what a bumpy ride
Bundled up baby on the hayride
Trying to stay warm on the hayride to get our pumpkins
So it was terribly muddy on the hayride to get out and pick our pumpkins so we decided to just grab some at the front! Finding the perfect ones to take home and they did!
She loved holding onto her pumpkin, didn't want to let it go.
Claire wanted to desperately ride the carriage as we were leaving (sobbing), extra money for that! :)
On the little kidos train ride, first ride for Claire by herself! They actually took them partly around the corn maze out of our site!
Baby calf shivering in the cold, poor guy.
Girls getting a glimpse at the baby chickies
And to top the day off... a little hot cocoa, yummy!
Our 4th trip to the Nelsons Farm on Saturday was a bit chilly in the late afternoon. I thought, as we left, "oh we will be fine", did not bring gloves for the girls and thier hands were about to fall off! What an awful mother, what was I thinking?:) Anyways, we made the best of our trip choosing pumpkins, riding on trains, watching the trebuchet, panning for marbles and seeing the farm animals. What a great place to go during the Fall months. Can't wait to see what Aves is going to be like at the farm next year, running all over I am sure!
